Music Ministries

One of the most vital areas of ministry for Ridgway Ministries is the ongoing Music Ministry of Paul and Judy Ridgway.

Through organizing orchestral and choral concerts around Christmas and Easter, there are opprtunities for Bulgarians to engage the Gospel through sacred music and highly skilled musicians, all conducted by Paul Ridgway.

Tickets to the annual concert are highly prized and are held at Bulgaria Hall, the most prestigious concert hall in Bulgaria.

  • Evangelistic concerts in established churches and church plants

  • Music directors/accompanists in Sofia Baptist Church

  • Judy leads children's choirs, writes and prepares Christmas and Easter programs

  • Piano lessons to young students

  • Paying for piano lessons to young students in churches outside Sofia

  • Purchasing and loaning violins to prospective students

  • Music classes for potential music leaders from churches outside Sofia

  • Teaching course in church music and worship in seminary

  • Music workshops

  • Arranging music for choirs, instrumental ensemble, family concerts

  • Coordinate and provide music for Baptist Union events

  • Directed choir of professional musicians from various evangelical churches
  • Paul led the committee that edited 365 songs for the Bulgarian Baptist Hymnal, the first since before Communism and the first ever Bulgarian Baptist Hymnal to include both music and text (previous editions had contained only text and referenced other hymn books for music).  This hymnal is now being used as the basis for the Evangelical Hymnal.

  • Sponsored, organized, and conducted two concerts in Bulgaria Hall, the most prestigious concert hall in the country.  The concertsare accompanied by full orchestra and included solos, songs by a mass choir of all the evangelical denominations in Sofia (and a few from Plovdiv) and a chamber ensemble.
